Aaron Knowles Dias, Education Director (aaron [at] stagewest.org)
Aaron's mission is to cultivate learning experiences which yield positive personal transformation, authentic creative expression, and nourishing community connection. She has spent the last 12 years teaching meditation, self-inquiry, yoga, and theatre arts for all ages, in several contexts--as a guest teacher in public schools and retreat centers, on faculty at State University of New York and various yoga teacher training programs, and as a content creator for online learning platforms.
Born to 2 theatre artists right here in Ft. Worth, she moved to the East Coast at age 7, where she grew up living part time in bucolic Maryland and part time in bustling New York City. First put on stage at 8 months old, Aaron has added her talents as an actor, singer, dancer, director, choreographer and playwright to over 100 plays and films in her lifetime. You may have seen her work most recently at the Hip Pocket Theatre--which happens to be the place that her parents first met. Life tends to make circles.
Aaron believes that there is an inner artist inside each of us, deserving sincere encouragement and craving rich nourishment. She sees her position as Stage West's Education Director as an uncannily fitting opportunity to provide this for a new generation of local theatre artists. She holds a BA in Philosophy from Vassar College, hundreds of yogic, taoist, buddhist and shamanic training hours, and is also a certified birth and death doula.
