Pre-Professional/College Theatre Prep course

Thank you for your interest in our Pre-Professional/College Theatre Prep course. This course will be taught by theater professionals Sarah Gay and Hannah Arguelles, whose students have been seen onstage across the DFW Metroplex in countless professional and community theater productions. Their work coaching students has resulted in acceptances to colleges across the country, including musical theater and acting programs at Texas Tech, TCU, Texas State, Missouri State, Ryder University, Carnegie Mellon, Roosevelt University and more.

The class meets 4:30 - 6:30 on Mondays, Sept. 13 - Dec. 13 (12 Weeks).  $540

Class Description

Intended for serious students but accessible enough for younger performers, this audition/invite only course is designed for high school students grades 9-12.  Through weekly skills-building study in the three core areas of voice, dance, and acting, students will gain the knowledge and abilities necessary to participate in theatre at advanced levels.  In addition to intensive workshop study, participants have the opportunity to select the Pre-Professional or College Prep track to receive the following:

  • Build a comprehensive audition book of individually selected songs and monologues
  • Resumé consultation and formatting
  • Headshots with Evan Micheal Woods of Amphibian Theatre
  • Weekly access to coaching for school or theater audition materials

College Prep

  • Work with instructors to select material for a comprehensive college audition package
  • Weekly coaching on college audition materials
  • Record the universal college pre-screen
  • Option to receive a choreographed dance pre-screen curated to student level and ability
  • Headshots by Evan Micheal Woods of Amphibian Theatre

Selection Process

To request instructor approval for enrollment, e-mail your request to Jennie [at] with your headshot and resumé. Alternatively, follow the video audition guidelines below.

Video Audition Process

Please prepare a 1 minute (32 bar) Musical Theater or Pop/Rock song selection and 1 minute monologue. Students may also choose to record one of the attached scenes if they do not have a monologue.

Please film your audition, beginning with a slate, in front of a simple background, with no backlighting, and little ambient noise. If possible, use a secondary audio source to play the accompaniment music so that it is audible in the tape. If taping a scene, use an off-camera reader.

Create a private YouTube link and forward with headshot/resumé (if available) to: Jennie [at]
