Stage West has the following job openings:

Cook/Food Prep

Prep and plating of menu offerings available in Stage West’s Lobby Café.  Position reports directly to Café Chef.

WAGE:

$15/hour

EXPERIENCE:

Prior restaurant and service experience is a plus but not required.

SCHEDULE:

The Lobby Café is open approximately 28 weeks per year, serving the public before performances at Stage West. Shift schedules are typically Thursdays 4:00-9:00pm, Friday and Saturdays 4:30-9:30pm, and Sundays 11:30pm-4:30pm. Shift times vary with the shows and not every waiter works every shift.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
  • Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients
  • Bake, grill, fry and steam: meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods
  • Present, garnish and arrange final dishes
  • Occasionally serve food
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes
  • Handle and store ingredients and food
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards

Some cooks may be in charge of assigning shift work for other cooks and performing shift leader duties, taking ownership of the kitchen.

Waitstaff

Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and an enjoyment of people are needed to properly execute this job.  Position reports directly to Cafe Manager.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: 

Lobby Cafe

SCHEDULE:

The Lobby Café is open approximately 28 weeks per year, serving the public before performances at Stage West. Shift schedules are typically Thursdays 5:00-10:00pm, Friday and Saturdays 5:30-10:30pm, and Sundays 12:30pm-5:30pm. Shift times vary with the shows and not every waiter works every shift. Patrons are almost exclusively made up of theatre-goers, actors and technicians.

WAITSTAFF GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet guests; take drink and food orders 
  • Stay attentive to the needs of guests in the dining area
  • Deliver food from the kitchen to the guests
  • Ensure food orders are made correctly by kitchen staff and looks presentable for guests
  • Follow health code standards with regards to the handling of food
  • Perform shift duties like delivering racks of cups to the bar station, rolling silverware, pre-bussing tables, wiping tables and removing debris and more
  • Ability to carry up to 15lbs and climb stairs

Some servers may be in charge of assigning shift work for other servers and performing shift leader duties, taking ownership of the dining room and guests.
