Lane and Charles, both doctors, love a clean house, but they are too busy to handle it themselves. So Lane has hired Matilde. Problem is, she hates to clean--cleaning makes her sad. However, Lane's sister Virginia loves to clean, and she has time on her hands. So she cleans Lane's house, freeing Mathilde to pursue her quest for the world's funniest joke. And all seems to be well. But then an unexpected other woman enters the picture, and things get messy again...
