Great comments on The Seafarer
I hope most of you reading this were able to catch our exceptional production of Conor McPherson's The Seafarer, which just closed a successful run last Sunday. We received a wonderful note from Betsy Cummings, Entertainment Director for the North Texas Irish Festival, and I thought I'd share part of it:
I just wanted to send the entire Stage West staff and cast and crew members a congratulatory note and my appreciation for your brilliant production of last Sunday's "The Seafarer." I am the Entertainment Director for the North Texas Irish Festival and on Sunday I brought a group of NTIF directors/managers with me to your final performance. Everything about this play was wonderfully crafted: The directing, cast, set design, props, music...and the actors' timing and synergy together was wonderful. The Irish are such passionate people and the director and actors did a brilliant job of capturing the great humor as well as the sometimes morose moodiness of the Irish character. Great adaptation of Conor McPherson's script. As usual, Stage West has done another outstanding production and since I have recently moved back to Ft. Worth, you have inspired me to become a season ticket holder. Thanks for all that you do.
Thanks to Betsy--and BTW, if you have never been to NTIF, I would urge you to go! Great music and dancing and food and drink (no poteen!) and stuff to buy. It's a great fun day. More at their website, www.ntif.org.
